• We’ve assembled a diverse Girl Advisory Board because we know all girls’ voices must be heard. We will provide all girls a place where they feel heard, and where they have the resources and support they need to raise their voices and change their corner of the world.
• We are asking for all Girl Scouts—girls, volunteers, alums, supporters, families, staff, and our suppliers and service providers—to commit to taking action to make the world a more equitable place.
• We promise to make Girl Scouts a safer space for you, including asking your name and pronouns.
• We invested in accessibility improvements at Girl Scouts of Central Indiana properties.
- Added accessibility ramp to the Nature Playground at Camp Dellwood
- Paved the access road to the new bike path at Camp Dellwood
- Ongoing accessibility improvement plans for 2023-2024
• We added an accessibility widget to our website to improve viewing capabilities for our visually impaired users.
• We translated more Girl Scout materials into Spanish language.
• We trained with the Indiana Youth Group (IYG) to understand inclusivity in the LGBTQ+ community so that we can create safer spaces for all youth.
- We added Progress Pride flag decals throughout our facilities.
- We identified gender-neutral restrooms at all of our properties, and gender-neutral changing areas at our properties with water activities.
- Our Girl Scout summer camp staff has access to “you are safe with me” buttons.
- We made period products available for free in all restrooms.
• We are undergoing a process to update our website, forms, and communications to use inclusive language.
• We’ve encouraged our staff to include their pronouns upon introduction when introducing themselves to Girl Scouts.
• We've committed to including closed captioning in our videos whenever the capability exists.
• We've added "Camp is for Everyone" filled with fidget toys, coloring books and colored pencils, sunglasses, and even an educational booklet about sensory differences to help adults understand how to care for their Girl Scouts with sensory processing disorders. These were generously donated as part of Troop 4683's Girl Scout Bronze Award project.
