Goal: Making the world a better place is why we’re all a part of Girl Scouts, and there’s no better place to start than in our own council. Every day Girl Scouts of Central Indiana board and staff strive to meet the ever-evolving needs of all girls in all our 45 counties and make the central Indiana Girl Scout experience outstanding.
That’s why we need you! We need girl voices to come together in a Girl Advisory Board (GAB). If you are wondering what a GAB is, think about the student council in your school. It’s basically people who love the same thing (Girl Scouts) coming together a few times a year to brainstorms ways of making it even better.
The idea of a Girl Advisory Board is a new construct for our council, and we are excited to get started.
How it works: The Girl Advisory Board will be made up of 30 members, 15 in 6-8th grade and 15 in 9-12th grade. The GAB will serve together and meet sometimes in the full group, but more often break into the 3 smaller groups to discuss girl ideas regarding the Girl Scout experience. We would meet virtually most often to allow for girl participation from across the council but seek to come together at least once a year. Girl Advisory Board membership would be for two years for all members except for the 2023 12th grade members.
Get started: All interested Girl Scouts need to complete the application form by Friday, October 4. Any currently registered Girl Scout is eligible. GAB applications will be reviewed by the Mission Delivery Committee of the Board of Directors and Girl Scouts of Central Indiana leadership.
