Join Purdue University's Women in Aviation chapter for an introduction to aviation as an exciting career opportunity. The event will include an informational session covering the basics of aviation and flight, a guided preflight inspection of a Piper PA-28 Archer, and hands-on experience flying the university's Level 5, FAA-approved simulators, including the Boeing 737, Airbus A320, and Hawker 900XP. STEM Career Exploration Badge Included for all Girl Scouts. Ages 9 and up.

  • A 30 minute introductory seminar covering the basics of flying

  • A preflight walk around of one of our Piper Archers on the ramp

  • Small group sessions where each participant is guided through a takeoff and landing in Purdue's ATD Archer simulator

  • Tours of our Boeing, Airbus, and Hawker simulators

Additional Information

  • Those registering individually should be accompanied by a registered adult. Each troop is responsible for providing enough adults to meet the Safety Activity Checkpoint ratio. GSCI Safety Checkpoints
  • Leaders and adults attending are responsible for the supervision of their girls at all times. The facilitator(s) might need your help; please be engaged in the event.
  • Please do not bring adults, siblings, or other Girl Scouts who are not registered.
