Horse crazy Daisies & Brownies, you're invited to Camp Gallahue to meet, learn about, and ride horses! Girl Scouts will be broken up into groups and rotate to different stations where they will learn how to lead a horse, do an interactive horse activity, and take a lead-line lap (or two) around the arena on one of our ponies! This is a great introductory experience for Girl Scouts who have never ridden or been around horses before. Adults may be asked to obersve outside the paddock. Girl Scouts will build confidence through risk taking. This is an Outdoor program. A fun patch is included!

This program will follow Safety Activity Checkpoints (SACs). For more information about GSUSA SACs, reference the website here. Girls must wear long pants, jeans preferred, and closed toed shoes, riding boots preferred. No crocs, flip flops, or sandals.

Location: Camp Gallahue, Morgantown

Notes:

  • Since this is an in-person event there is a strict event capacity. We recommend keeping your registration to girl/adult ratios outlined in the Activity Safety Checkpoints to allow for maximum girl participation. All attending individuals both girls and adults must be registered in advance.
  • Each troop is responsible for providing enough adults to meet Activity Safety Checkpoints, girls registering individually should also be accompanied by an adult.
  • This event is for registered Girl Scouts and girls interested in trying out the world of Girl Scouting and the opportunities offered through our program. We are sorry, but we cannot accommodate tagalongs at this event.
  • A fun patch is provided.
