Want to experience the fun and adventure of summer camp as a family or troop? Or does your Girl Scout want to come to camp with the added comfort of a buddy, sibling, parent/guardian, or troop leader? Join us at Camp Sycamore Valley for a weekend of summer camp fun! Families and troops will be able to participate in activities such as ziplining, climbing, archery, hatchets, crafting, swimming, and making dinner and s'mores over a campfire. Breakfast and dinner on Saturday will be provided. Please bring your own meals for lunch on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday.

Families and troops are also welcome to participate in unscheduled activities on their own during the camp adventure as well, such as hiking, playing putt-putt, volleyball, pickleball, lawn games, and zooming down Black Hole slides. Families and troops can stay in their favorite unit overnight or try something new! Make your selection at registration (first come first served). Girl Scouts will earn a fun patch.

Location: Camp Sycamore Valley, Lafayette, IN

Important notes about Family/Troop Camping:

  • All camp activities will follow Safety Activity Checkpoint guidelines for participation.
  • You must bring your own food for lunch on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday. Please also plan to eat before arriving to camp on Friday, or bring dinner for that day. Breakfast, dinner, and s'mores will be provided for Saturday night.
  • NO pets, alcohol, or smoking on property.
  • NO driving around property once you've parked at your unit. Please walk to all activities. Let Olive know if you need an accommodation.

Important notes about units:

  • Unit reservations are first come first served. Registrations for the night are per location for units or platform tents.
  • If you choose to stay overnight, you will be sharing the unit and campfire with other families in the unit in which you stay.
  • You will have hot dog sticks and pie irons available at each unit. These will be shared in your unit, not one per person.

Notes:

  • Since this is an in-person event there is a strict event capacity. We recommend keeping your registration to girl/adult ratios outlined in the Activity Safety Checkpoints to allow for maximum camper participation. All attending individuals, both girls and adults, must be registered in advance.
  • Each family/troop is responsible for providing enough adults to meet Safety Activity Checkpoints, girls registering individually should also be accompanied by an adult.
  • As outlined in the Safety Activity Checkpoints, males are required to sleep in separate accommodations from females/girls if they are not immediate family members. Families can share individual cabins, but in larger buildings/rooms where families are mixed, males need to sleep in separate rooms. In the Troop Cabin, they will need to sleep downstairs. In the Program Center (Wing 3, Catherine's Cabin, and Kathy's Corner), they will need to sleep in a separate room. Males can also pitch a tent outside of these buildings or next to the units to meet GSUSA guidelines.
