Calling all Juniors, Cadettes, and parents who are ready for their children to stay at home alone! Spend your morning at Camp Sycamore Valley learning how to be safe at home. Safe@Home is ideal for students that have expressed interest in assuming the responsibility of staying home alone. Students learn how to practice safe habits, how to prevent unsafe situations, and what to do when faced with dangers such as power failures or weather emergencies. Students are also introduced to the Safe Sitter First Aid Chart and learn a system to help them assess and respond to injuries and illnesses. The program is designed to prepare students for their first steps towards independence. Participants will receive a Safe@Home booklet and a Safe@Home patch.
Those registering individually should be accompanied by a registered adult. Each troop is responsible for providing enough adults to meet the Safety Activity Checkpoint ratio. GSCI Safety Checkpoints
Leaders and adults attending are responsible for the supervision of their girls at all times. The facilitator(s) might need your help; please be engaged in the event.
Please do not bring adults, siblings, or other Girl Scouts who are not registered.
