GIrl Scouts Love State Parks at the Indiana State Museum

White River State Park

Did you know Downtown Indianapolis has a State Park? Show your love for our wonderful state parks by participating in hands-on activities including outdoor art and exploring the museum with your fellow Girl Scouts.

Date: Saturday, September 12th

Time: 10am - 2pm

Celebrate the outdoors through art, exploration, and discovery at the Indiana State Museum during Girl Scouts Love State Parks! Girl Scouts will create unique nature-inspired artwork using natural materials while reflecting on their favorite outdoor memories and the connections they have made with nature.

After creating their masterpieces, Girl Scouts can continue their adventure with self-guided activities designed to help them complete requirements for the Girl Scouts Love State Parks patch. Explore museum galleries with a special gallery guide that encourages girls to discover connections between Indiana's natural landscapes, wildlife, and history. Then, head outside to the museum's pollinator garden for a fun seek-and-find challenge highlighting the importance of native plants and pollinators.

While the event focuses on earning Girl Scouts Love State Parks badge requirements, girls may also complete portions of the Outdoor Art Maker, Outdoor Art Creator, or Outdoor Art Explorer badges.
