Girl Scouts Love State Park: Brown County SP From Tree to Seed to Tree Rebuilding After the Tornado

Trees are the largest living things most of us see on a daily basis, but they start small. Join a park naturalist for a hands on project. We will collect white oak acorns, discuss how they grow, test their viability for growing, then go broadcast seed in the tornado path! Scouts will learn about germination, succession, and regeneration of Southern Indiana's forests. Be prepared to get your hands wet and muddy! The program will involve a short hike.  Meet at the Ogle Lake parking area. We will move to a second location for the last part of the program.
