Date: Sat Sep 26, 12:00 PM EDT - Sun Sep 27, 12:00 PM EDT
Is your troop or family ready for a campout but you aren't quite sure where to start? Bring them to Camp Sycamore Valley for a Back to the Basics Overnight Camping experience. Liz (aka Olive) will be teaching adults, volunteers, Girl Scouts, and their families basic outdoor skills, like building a fire, cooking over a fire, sleeping soundly outdoors, tent set-up, and more. If there is an outdoor skill that your troop/family is interested in learning, shoot Liz an email at lhamilton@girlscoutsindiana.org and she can add it to the intinerary for the weekend. Sleeping arrangements will be determined upon arrival. First come, first served for units. Troops are also welcome to bring their own gear for sleeping outside! (It's always nice to know how to use the gear you already have.) Lunch and dinner on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday will be provided. Let's get comfortable with outdoor cooking!
For an additional $6/Junior, there is an optional add-on to earn their Animal Habitats and Camper badges. Payment will be taken the day of the program.
Location: Camp Sycamore Valley (Lafayette, IN)
