The primary purpose of the American Red Cross Lifeguarding program is to provide participants with the knowledge and skills needed to prevent, recognize, and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide professional-level care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until emergency medical services (EMS) professionals take over. You must have strong swimming skills and be at least 15 years old. The standard Lifeguard certification will allow you to reserve pools at any Girl Scout Camp.This is a three day, blended learning course. The online portion of the course must be completed prior to the first in-person skills session. In Person Skills Sessions: Friday, July 31 (6-9 pm), Saturday, August 1 (9am-9pm), and August 2 (9am-5pm). We may end early on Saturday and Sunday.
