🌲 "Eco Explorers: Tree ID & Service Adventure" for Older Girl Scouts

Location: Crown Hill Arboretum: 3402 Blvd. Place, Indpls, IN 46208

 

 

Cadette, Senior, and Ambassador Girl Scouts are invited to take a deeper dive into the science of trees and conservation. Join Crown Hill's Arboretum Director, Carrie, for a Tree ID workshop and ecological tour focused on native and invasive species. Scouts will learn to analyze leaf shapes, bark textures, and seed structures while gaining insight into the role trees play in local ecosystems.

 

 

🌿 Girls will also take part in the Girl Scout Tree Promise, reciting:

 

 

"I promise to be a friend to every tree,

 

to plant, protect, and honor them for the future of our planet.

 

I will care for trees and use resources wisely,

 

because every tree matters."

 

 

🌳 After completing the promise, girls will receive the Tree Promise patch and can choose to earn service hours through future volunteer opportunities at the Arboretum.

 

Girl cost- $12 🌿 Girls who participate will complete the Girl Scout Tree Promise and receive the Tree Promise patch!

Adult Cost- $10 includes tour 

 

  • Please do not bring adults, siblings, or other Girl Scouts who are not registered.
  • Each troop is responsible for providing enough adults to meet the Safety Activity Checkpoint ratio. Those registering individually should also be accompanied by a registered adult.  GSCI Safety Checkpoints
  • Leaders and adults attending are responsible for the supervision of their girls at all times. The facilitator(s) might need your help; please be engaged in the event.
