Girl Scout Juniors, Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors are invited to come have some fun with the Camp Gallahue horses in this 'intro to rodeo.' Riders will practice gaming patterns on horseback with barrels and cones, learn how to rope, try your hand at a mini obstacle course, and more! This program is intended for Girl Scouts who have some riding experience and are comfortable steering and stopping a horse. Fun patch is included. Adults will observe from outside the paddock. Girl Scouts will build confidence through risk taking. This is an Outdoor program.
This program will follow Safety Activity Checkpoints (SACs). For more information about GSUSA SACs, reference the website here. Girls must wear long pants, jeans preferred, and closed toed shoes, riding boots preferred. No crocs, flip flops, or sandals.
Location: Camp Gallahue, Morgantown
Notes:
- Since this is an in-person event there is a strict event capacity. We recommend keeping your registration to girl/adult ratios outlined in the Activity Safety Checkpoints to allow for maximum girl participation. All attending individuals both girls and adults must be registered in advance.
- Each troop is responsible for providing enough adults to meet Activity Safety Checkpoints, girls registering individually should also be accompanied by an adult.
- This event is for registered Girl Scouts and girls interested in trying out the world of Girl Scouting and the opportunities offered through our program. We are sorry, but we cannot accommodate tagalongs at this event.
