Troop Volunteer Positions
Troop Leader/Co-Leader

All troop leaders encourage girls to build confidence while trying new things.  You might be the lead, but you don’t do it alone. By coordinating a team of volunteers, leaders can help everyone contribute. Every troop has minimum of 2 unrelated adults in this role. This position requires annual membership, background screening, and completion of training found in gsLearn. Log into gsLearn to get started!

Troop Treasurer

The Troop Treasurer manages the troop checking account, is a signer on the account,  and supports the troop committee with reimbursements. They engage the girls in goal setting and budgeting and are key to the financial integrity of the troop. This position requires annual membership, background screening and training found in gsLearn. 

Troop Cookie Manager

Help guide the next generation of financially savvy business leaders by helping girls set and achieve goals through the Cookie Program. Primary time period for this role is January through March. This position requires annual membership, a background screening, and training from the Service Unit Cookie Manager.

Troop Fall Product Sales Manager

Help your troop start out with the funds needed to do fun things. This position requires annual membership, a background screening, and training found in gsLearn.  

Troop First Aider

Support your troop as the First Aider by taking council-sponsored training. Log into gsLearn to get started! Volunteers can also upload credentials from another organization into gsLearn. Courses containing all of the following elements are accepted:  
•Basic first aid 
•Adult and child CPR training, including a “hands-on” skills demonstration even if the course is hosted online 
•AED training  
Some healthcare professionals may also serve as First Aiders for the troop. See Volunteer Essentials, Chapter 9 for more information on Troop First Aiders. This position requires annual membership, background screening, and current first aid/CPR/AED certification. REgister as a troop helper and let your leader know you hold current certifications.

Troop Helper

Many hands lighten the load! Help organize snack, drive or chaperone at a council event, camp, lead part of a meeting, or share a skill girls want to learn.  Troops that have multiple troop helpers are more successful and both girls and leaders have more positive experiences. This position requires annual membership and background screening. 

Campout Qualified Volunteer

For troops to enjoy the great outdoors, they need a volunteer who has completed the Camp Certification training. This position requires annual membership and background screening, along with completion of our in person training. Register as a troop helper and let your leader know you have this certifcation.
