What’s a Pop-Up Shop? A Pop-Up Shop is a Girl Scout shop that comes to you! We bring uniform components, seasonal fun patches, casual wear and more to a predetermined location in your area. In addition, in all 45 counties we have planned a special Pop-Up Shop + Program where we will bring a super fun program activity to your location.

We are so excited to bring all things Girl Scout to your local community and look forward to seeing everyone at these fun, girl centered events! We will be adding more detail to this plan very soon, check our events calendar for dates and times.

2020 Fall Program Pop-Up Event Choices (for Service Unit Managers)
arrow3-right_32_green
Multi-level programs, patch included for all paying participants:

Dove Free Being Me  (Girls all ages)
This program is designed to give the girls a chance to stop and reflect on the world around them, and the influence it has on the way they think about themselves and other people. They will discover that their society – through the media, and those they spend time with – encourages them to try to look like a very narrow definition of beauty. They’ll find out the downsides of trying to look like this ‘Image Myth’ – and discover that it’s actually impossible; even celebrities and models are airbrushed! Participants are empowered to speak out and challenge the Image Myth in lots of different ways, boosting their body confidence and having fun at the same time. Finally, Free Being Me challenges participants to take the lead by taking action in their community, sharing what they have learned with their peers.

Dream It, Design It- A World of Engineering  (Girls all ages)
Join us as we jump into the world of engineering. Through hands-on activities you will get the chance to explore some of the different types of engineering. Learn about some examples of famous women engineers and see how they left their mark on the world. But most importantly you will get a chance to be creative and think like an engineer as you find creative ways to solve problems or make design improvements. Activities will vary depending on age-levels selected.

Journey/Badge Extensions: If girls enjoy participating in this activity consider the doing one of the following in an upcoming troop meeting, Mechanical Engineering Badges for Daisies, Brownies, and Juniors and the Think Like an Engineer Journey for all age-levels.

Strong Girls, Healthy Meeting Patch  (Girls all ages)
Learn how to make healthy habits a part of your everyday life. Girls will get the chance to explore different tastes of water, make a healthy snack, and accessorize their water bottle with a water bottle carrier! This program will include a fruit and vegetable taste test, and an activity that illustrates the amount of sugar in common beverages. Taking on these healthy habits in a supportive environment of peers and role models has a heightened potential to achieve a positive ripple effect on children’s lives.

Kroger Zero Hunger | Zero Waste- Family Program  (For all ages)
Kroger’s Zero Hunger | Zero Waste social impact plan is their commitment to end hunger in our communities and eliminate waste across their company by 2025. By partnering with Girl Scouts of Central Indiana, girls across our council can take action in their own communities to help make those goals possible. This patch will include activities around these initiatives including starting a garden and decorating our flower pot starter, decorating a water bottle to reduce the plastic problem, and more!
