Try your hand at preparing a meal! Younger girls and older girls will have different challenges for this week! Cooking is considered a mental health tool for positive coping. Eating healthy, creating an eating routine, connecting with others through food, all creates a positive mental health outlook. (Mental Health America). Watch the video to get started!
Daisies, Brownies, Juniors: Make a meal that includes one new food that you’ve never tried before! Create a shopping list of what you will need to make this meal. Have an adult help you get started and take a picture of your meal and let us know how you enjoyed trying a new food!
Cadettes, Seniors, Ambassadors: Have a favorite recipe? Create a tutorial on how to make your favorite recipe to share with other Girl Scouts. Create a video or write it up with pictures! Don’t forget your shopping list!

Daisy: Complete step 1 of the Buddy Camper badge by choosing “Plan a simple meal.”
Brownie: Complete step 3 of the Cabin Camper badge by choosing “Make a meal that includes one food you’ve never tried before.” Complete step 4 of the hiker badge by choosing “Make a walking salad.” Complete step 2 of the My Best Self badge by choosing “Try three new foods that are good for you.” Complete step 2, 3 or 4 of the Snacks badge, as long as you make your snacks a part of a whole meal!
Junior:Complete step 2 of the Eco Camper badge by choosing “Make a solar box cooker and cook something simple” or “Practice making a no-trash camp meal for your troop before you go on your trip.” Complete step 2, 3, or 5 of the Simple Meals badge.
Cadette: Complete step 1 of the New Cuisines badge by choosing “Cook something from an area of the world you’re curious about” or “Let a particular ingredient be your tour guide.” Complete step 2 of New Cuisines badge by choosing “Put together a meal based on a food-related news story” or “Find out how well you know your region.” Complete step 3 and 4 of the New Cuisines badge by choosing any of the options! Complete step 3 of the Primitive Camper badge. Complete step 3 of the Trailblazing badge by choosing “Find three recipes for quick meals” or “Get into quick-energy snacks.”
Senior:Complete step 3 of the Adventurer Camper badge by choosing “Make a meal using a stove designed for backpacking.” For the Locavore badge, complete step 3 (any option), step 4 by choosing “Make a recipe local” or step 5 by choosing “Prepare a three-course meal” or “Cook a dish starring something from scratch.”
