Girl Scouts of Central Indiana-sponsored social media profiles and pages are a family-friendly outlet to promote our council’s activities and events. We are committed to ensuring that all council social media sites and all postings reflect the highest levels of courtesy, professionalism, principles and practices, and the Girl Scout Promise and Law.
Our social media team monitors Girl Scouts of Central Indiana-sponsored social media profiles and pages. Girl Scouts of Central Indiana is not responsible for content generated by users and is not obligated to respond to comments.
We will remove comments from our social media sites that include the following:
• Disclosure of confidential information
• Obscene, profane, rude, or vulgar language or images
• Personal attacks or offensive terms that target specific individuals or groups
• Threats or defamatory statements
• Violent, hateful, or racist language
• Advocacy for any illegal activity
• Off-topic posts, repetitive posts, spam, trolling, or posts that are deliberately disruptive
• Outdated, inaccurate or misleading information
• Promotion or opposition to political organizations, campaigns, candidates, or pending legislative action
• Personal information, including but not limited to addresses and telephone numbers
• Advertisements or solicitations of any kind
• Infringement on copyrights or trademarks
We do not discriminate against any views but reserve the right to remove posts that violate the above policies or that are deemed inappropriate. Repeated violations of our comment policy may cause the author to be blocked from Girl Scouts of Central Indiana social media accounts.

Girl Scouts of the USA has the sole and exclusive right by virtue of its Congressional Charter, 36 U.S.C. § 80301 et. seq., to have and use all service marks, trademarks, emblems, badges, descriptive or designating marks, and other words now or heretofore used in carrying out its program and is the owner of the GIRL SCOUTS name, service mark, and trademark, and of all other associated names, marks, slogans, insignias, logotypes and designs, including but not limited to the distinctive TREFOIL design mark, the GSUSA uniforms and other indicia, the names and marks "Girl Scouts of the United States of America", "Girl Scout Daisies", Girl Scout Brownies", "Girl Scout Juniors", "Girl Scout Cadettes", "Girl Scout Seniors", and "Girl Scout Ambassadors", and such trademarks and service marks as WHERE GIRLS GROW STRONG, FOR EVERY GIRL EVERYWHERE, GIRLSPORTS, and GIRL SCOUT COOKIES (hereinafter collectively identified as the "Intellectual Property"). Girl Scouts of Central Indiana has been granted permission by Girl Scouts of the USA to use, reproduce and distribute the Intellectual Property solely in connection with Girl Scouting.
All other trademarks displayed on this site or through links to other sites are the property of the respective trademark owners.
CLAIMS REGARDING COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENTS

Children’s Privacy
Girl Scouts of Central Indiana is committed to providing a safe, secure, and fun online experience for children who visit our site. We are dedicated to safeguarding any personally identifiable information collected online and to helping parents and children have positive experiences on the Internet.
We will never knowingly request personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13 without prior verifiable parental consent. Submissions
Girl Scouts of Central Indiana welcomes children to learn more about our organization and, where appropriate, participate in polls and surveys, as well as submit comments, artwork, writings, and other submissions for posting on our website. For this reason, Girl Scouts of Central Indiana follows the guidelines for interactive electronic media published by the Children's Advertising Review Unit (CARU) of the Better Business Bureau for pages targeted to children under 13. However, we encourage this be done only with their parent's knowledge and supervision. We also encourage children to use an alias (e.g., "Bookworm", "Skater", etc.), first name, nickname, initials, or other alternative to full names or screen names which correspond with an email address for any activities which will involve public posting.
In keeping with CARU's Principle regarding respecting and fostering the parents' role in providing guidance for their children, we encourage parents to check and monitor their children's use of email and other online activities regularly.
Use of Cookie and Similar Technologies
Visitors should be aware that non-personal information and data may be automatically collected by the Girl Scouts of Central Indiana website through the use of "cookies" or other similar technologies such as web beacons. Audiovisuals: Girl Scout audiovisuals are copyrighted. Some items indicate that they can be duplicated for internal use only. Otherwise, obtain permission by writing to Internal Communications, Girl Scouts of the USA, 420 Fifth Avenue, New York NY 10018-2798.
Photographs: Photographs, drawings and illustrations may not be used without permission.
Electronic materials: New technology is impacting copyright law, with federal legislation being drafted. Watch for timely information on this topic, and never assume you can use electronic material without permission.
There is a concept called ‘fair use’ which may apply. This doctrine allows the use of materials if such use would not economically harm the copyright holder. Fair use is determined based on the purpose (such as nonprofit educational use), the nature of the work, the amount used and the potential impact on the market value of the work. Exercise caution! SMS Program Terms of Service
1. This Program will send promotional messages & updates regarding opportunities to get involved with & donate to the Girl Scouts of Indiana, as well as reminders for upcoming events and membership renewals to users who opt-in via keyword promotion or who register through our website.
2. You can cancel the SMS service at any time. Just text "STOP" to the short code. After you send the SMS or MMS message "STOP" to us, we will send you an SMS message to confirm that you have been unsubscribed. After this, you will no longer receive SMS or MMS messages from us. If you want to join again, just sign up as you did the first time and we will start sending SMS and MMS messages to you again.
3. If you are experiencing issues with the messaging program you can reply with the keyword HELP for more assistance, or you can get help directly at customercare@girlscoutsindiana.org.
4. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
5. As always, message and data rates may apply for any messages sent to you from us and to us from you. Message frequency varies. If you have any questions about your text plan or data plan, it is best to contact your wireless provider.
