Indianapolis Motor Speedway Overnight
Join Girl Scouts of Central Indiana for a special overnight event at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway October 11-12. On Saturday troops can arrive between 8-10 a.m. Bring a tent and sleep out on the track with your fellow Girl Scouts. Not comfortable sleeping at the track? Stay at Camp Dellwood in the platform tents (limited availability, first come, first served). Girls will rotate through fun, hands-on stations which will include STEM activities and riding a bicycle around the track! Event ends at 9 a.m. on Sunday. The event will go on rain or shine, so come prepared for all weather.
Troops may bring their own food, or buy food at the track from the IMS vendors – no additional food or drinks will be provided. Troops can bring their own bicycles or can borrow a limited number of bikes for girls who do not have one.
This event is free to your entire troop if you meet all of the following requirements prior to September 30:
- Your troop must have completed the early bird registration by July 15
- Maintain it's current numbers based on May 30 troop size
- Add two additional girls by September 30
- Complete the form (see buttons to the right) and turn it back to council on or before September 30
Those registering individually should also be accompanied by an adult. Only registered Girl Scouts may participate in council activities.
Each troop is responsible for providing only enough adults to meet Safety-Wise ratios. Any additional adult that exceeds the Safety-Wise ratio will be $5. Please click the button to the right to register additional adults.
Patches are available for $2/girl. Patches must be purchased by Sept 30. Use the button to the right to purchase you patches.
We have a special opportunity for our older girls troops that meet the early bird registration deadline but do not meet the other requirements. If you are a Girl Scout Cadette, Senior and Ambassador and are able to volunteer for a four hour shift then you will be able to attend this annual event for free. Volunteer opportunities include trash clean up, registration, tent set up, bike safety and/or assisting with vendors. Once registered you will get your volunteer assignment. You will also be able to spend an exclusive Friday night with other CSA’s, ride your bike around the track, participate in a golf clinic and engage in STEM and healthy living activities. CSA adult volunteers are not limited to Safety Wise limits for participation.
